Taif University has announced it will start registering a fixed number of foreign students under certain conditions, said Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Talhi, Supervisor of General Public Relations. He said the university has increased its admission capacity this year by 30 percent compared to last year. He said up until 11,384 students had registered. The faculty of medicine topped 2,100 candidates, the most of all departments. It is expected 15,000 students will register this coming year, an increase of 30 percent. Candidates are able to choose from four specializations in each faculty, he added. A delegation from Monash University in Australia would visit the university today for 10 days. The visit is part of a cooperation agreement signed between the two universities under which a stem cell research center will be set up by the Australian university. The delegation will also discuss the prospects of training researchers and technicians on the plantation of the stem cells. __
