AHSA: Prince Badr Bin Julawi Al-Saud, Governor of Al-Ahsa, is scheduled to launch on June 28 the 2011 Al-Ahsa Summer Festival with a flight of hot air balloons that will spend three days traveling through the region's skies. Mayor of Al-Ahsa Fahd Bin Muhammad Al-Jabir told a press conference Sunday that the flight launch at the start of the festival will be led by a giant balloon bearing the image of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and that it will precede a wide range of new events and features, including the “interactive fountain display show”. The 700-meter-high fountain show, which is accompanied by a display screen, lasers and music, will be staged three times a day, according to Al-Jabir. “The festival seeks every year to put on the events of the highest quality, and we will have circus acrobats performing from China, Russian troupes of performers and the Ukranian circus,” he said. Well-known theater groups from the Gulf will also be staging plays while the heritage village will offer an assortment of traditional craft-making activities and locally-produced products. All festival zones will be provided with Wi-Fi Internet connection.
