Fitr celebrations will mark the end of this year's Jeddah Ghair Summer Festival, the longest since it was launched 12 years ago. The 10-day celebration has been approved by Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah region, and will be directly supervised by Prince Mish'al Bin Majed, Governor of Jeddah and Chairman of the Tourism Development Committee. Prince Abdullah Bin Saud Bin Muhammad, Chairman of the Tourism Committee in the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the festival's organizing committee, said that the Jeddah Ghair Festival, which will complete a period of 70 days, has achieved all its goals that were set for its first and second stage during Sha'aban and Ramadan respectively. Prince Abdullah Bin Saud said that the beginning of Eid Al-Fitr activities will be marked by a display of fireworks at North Obhur, Nawras Square and the area of King Abdul Aziz Airport. Entertainment activities include a variety of folklore and theater shows in addition to contests, acrobatics, sports activities, and performances by international bands that will be hosted at commercial malls and centers. Prince Abdullah Bin Saud said, “We have many theater shows this year such as the funny show ‘Waiter and Stooges', which will be performed at the theater of Waterfall Garden for Entertainment throughout the Eid break and another show called ‘Made in Saudi Arabia', which will be performed at Sheikh Ismail Abu Dawood Hall at Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.” Various activities have been prepared for children and will be held at Serafi Megamall and Obhur, Prince Abdullah Bin Saud added. “The folklore bands will be hosted in several squares and places such as Al-Bay'ah Square, Al-Hamra Street near Park Hyatt Hotel, Al-Matar Al-Qadeem Street behind Mahmoud Sa'eed, Nawras Square and Obhur. Folklore bands will present a show called ‘Past and Present Eids of Our Kingdom' which will be held at Al-Omdah and Family Park, Nawras Towers and Fantasia.” La Costa Beach and Fisherman Island will have shows by Egyptian acrobat groups and a children's festival in addition to laser shows, Prince Abdullah Bin Saud added.
