Participants in the summer festival starting Wednesday are being lured by over 201 mega malls and small markets in the city who are vying with each other in announcing discounts on all purchases. Jeddah International Center for Events and Forums is organizing a live song show besides several lectures and social gatherings at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jeddah. Various topics will be touched at these lectures including learning skills, strengthening of memory and art dealing with family problems. “This year's events include a variety of sports, artistic, cultural, literary, laser show and singing programs,” Saleh Al-Turki, Chairman of the JCCI, said at a press conference here Tuesday. He added there will be Marine tank reviews, folklore presentations, plays for children, a cultural week dedicated to all Arab and Islamic states, circus world, beach football and basketball team in the plane, Saudi exhibition of gold and jewelry, a championship of the traditional Saudi card game, Balout, snow festival, Alexandria food, a race for the elderly and soccer for those with special needs. He added that this year there were some events for orphans, carnival security awareness of government departments, acrobatics offers from Egypt and the Russian circus. The festival will also feature a fire show at Mursal Village and a fashion show at the Jeddah Hilton,” he said. __
