The Italian International Circus will perform at the Corniche here for 42 days starting from July 12 in a carnival which is part of the 31st Jeddah Summer Festival under the patronage of Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah region, and with the full support of Jeddah Municipality, the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) and the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI). Prince Talal Bin Mohammed Al-Faisal, president and executive officer of the carnival, said that the event will be the entertainment hub for the summer festival with thousands of people expected to enjoy throughout the summer the acrobats, clowns and trained animals of the international circus, which is appearing for the first time in the Kingdom. The circus, with a staff of 60 professionals from 12 countries, will provide two shows a day to the public. Apart from the circus, the Corniche carnival will include activities for children, a bazaar and a wide range of restaurants and cafes. The bazaar will be open in the morning from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. and in the evening from 5 P.M. until late at night. “It will be a great event with light and laser shows. The carnival is for families and children and we are expecting up to 20,000 people on the opening day,” a circus official told Saudi Gazette.
