KHAMIS MUSHAYT: Police are searching for a man who burst into the home of a Filipina woman here Tuesday with the intention of raping her before she managed to get hold of a knife and flee the house. The woman, who has lived at the property adjoining a ladies beauty salon on Dhiyafa Street for many years without incident, rushed into the kitchen and grabbed a knife when the man appeared in the house after bursting through the outside door, and as he backed off she escaped into the street through a back door. Much to the astonishment of passers-by, the knife-wielding woman then briefly tried to pursue her attacker as he sped off in his car, the registration plate of which was fortunately recorded by witnesses to the scene. Police said they are still in pursuit of the man.
