JIZAN: Authorities at the southern border point of Al-Tuwal have discovered Saudi nationals smuggling fuel across the border in their vehicle tanks and selling it at several times the price, leaving themselves with just enough to drive back. Ali Al-Kamili, head of the Al-Tuwal border crossing, said the practice was being carried out by some individuals and some vehicles, often large vans and trucks, belonging to private Saudi companies. “Authorities at the crossing are working to put an end to company vehicles going to gas stations and emptying their tanks into the tanks of other vehicles,” Al-Kamili said. “These acts only damage the interests of the country and those persons might exploit people by smuggling into the Kingdom prohibited materials.”
