AHSA: A number of local and international experts presented 30 scientific papers on the latest diseases affecting children, and recent medical developments in pediatrics, at a conference organized by King Abdul Aziz National Guard Hospital in Al-Ahsa. Dr. Bandar Abdul Muhsin Al-Qinawi, Executive Director General for Health Affairs in the National Guard, President of King Saud University for Health Sciences and Supervisor General of the Royal Clinics, said the importance of the conference lies in the discussion on the papers presented by researchers and specialists in this important medical field. Due to its determination to ensure the highest medical treatment according to international criteria, the Health Affairs in the National Guard “strives to hold such important conferences on a continuous basis, to benefit the patient”, he said. He said pediatric medicine has seen many changes over the past few years in diagnostic and treatment methods. “This makes it incumbent upon us to keep pace with all these international health developments.” Participants at the conference discussed over 30 specialist working papers on pediatrics including on urinary tract inflammation, convulsions, lack of growth and blood diseases, said Dr. Hisham Al-Qarm, chairman of the conference's organizing committee and head of the Pediatrics Department at King Abdul Aziz Hospital.
