JEDDAH: Attieh Steel, ATS, Fuchs Hamrani and Usman Gems Blue from Group A as Al-Mazroi, My Care White, Usman Gems Tigers and Johnson Control have entered the pre-semis of the Prince Faisal Morning Tournament. The tournament, sponsored by Saudi Cricket Center, is being played at WPCA. The quarterfinals will be played here on Friday. In the last week of the group matches, Hamrani defeated Universal Coil, Attieh thrashed Usman Gems Blue, ATS won against GGI, Johnson Control had the last laugh against Usman Gems Tigers as Crown White and My Care Green won against their rivals. Batting first Universal Coil put up 173 for 7 as teen opener Aatif hit 8 fours and a six to compile 56; Waseem made 26 and Laiq was retired for 23. Usman got 3-30 and Irfan 2-43. Fuchs Hamrani easily chased the target to enter the quarterfinal scoring 174 for 5 with 3 balls to spare as Ali smashed 77 with 11 fours and 2 huge sixes and Jabbar made 22. Asghar took 2-17. Attieh Steel topped the table after defeating Usman Gems Blue by 9 wickets as Moazzam Shoukat hit his fourth straight century with an unbeaten 124 in 50 balls including 7 magnificent sixes and 14 hits to the fence to get to 197 for 1 in 91 balls. ATS, in reply to GGI, was home with 105 for 5 to get to the knockout stage. Earlier, GGI made 102 as Pervez made 35 and Dr. Basheer scoring 26. ATS' Imran took 4-18 and Mudassir 2-15 to restrict GGI to the low score. Usman Gems Tigers came up with 156 for 7 as Hafiz Shahzad and Aijaz stroked an identical score of 28, Ahmed 22, Afridi 24 and Kashif 25. Johnson Control achieved 158 for 5 with five balls to spare through Qaiser Amin scoring 36, Asif 32 and Khubab 28. Irfan took 2-29 for Tigers.
