Pakistan International School Jeddah (English Section) paid tribute to the brilliant star of Pakistan, the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional Arfa Karim Randhawa by naming the school IT lab after her. “Naming the IT lab after Arfa Karim Randhawa is our heartfelt tribute to her who planted thousands of dreams in the young and old alike,” said school Principal Sehar Kamran. “The basic objective of taking the initiative was to acknowledge the achievements of Arfa Karim, and at the same time promote a thought among the students to strive for the best,” she said. “Arfa is an inspiration and a role model for the young generation. I am confident that students of PISJ-ES have all the potential and capabilities to prove themselves and bring pride to their country, this institution, their parents and teachers. I wish to see my students very successful in their career,” said the principal. The program included poignant presentations by Y13 students Mashael Kamran, Fatima Mohsin and Hassan Iftikhar based on Arfa Karim's life achievements and ambitions followed by the speeches of Y12 students Hafsa Khan and Owais Zaheer. “I believe each and every student of PISJ will sincerely put all efforts to achieve set goals. I am very much satisfied with the quality of education and opportunities offered to our students and this school will produce brilliant stars like Arfa Karim,” said the school principal. “I need your commitment to progress. You must always remember your role as a future architect of Pakistan, and revive your pledge to use your abilities and talents for your country, be loyal with your national obligations and keep the flag of Pakistan flying high,” she added. Nour Homsi, Data Center Consultant, Microsoft, in his address said: “I am amazed by the achievements of Arfa Karim. She was only 10 years of age and was a part of the keynote session in the Tech-Ed Developers conference held in Barcelona among 5,000 developers. She represented Pakistan with incredible attitude. I would say that Pakistanis have immense talents and it is parents and teachers responsibility to guide the young talent.” Naseer Al-Faaiz- CEO, R-Tech, said that Arfa was not only an IT prodigy but was a meaningful poet. He read one of the Arfa Karim's poem , “Clueless.” Addressing the students, Hany Mansour Aref, President and CEO ASAS, said, “Arfa will be an inspiration to all of you who represent us in this world.” Those who attended the IT lab inauguration included Muhammad Laimon, SMB Lead, Microsoft, and Qamar Siddque Raja, Consul CA and Link Officer of the school. The program commenced with the recitation of the verses from the Holy Qur'an by Ahmed Ali Shah followed by national anthems of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. __
