A vote (which is) not made by the intelligence

Al-Riyadh's Editorial
The town was sleeping as sun ray had been declining and the sun had been descending towards the dusk, saying goodbye to the muddy houses and their few people of families and individuals whose life and practical activities are well known. The town was closing its famous gates to sleep in the lap of the ancient muddy wall among the solemn and inspiring desert silence. If size is put into consideration; it would have been closer to a village that has been introduced recently to life types of a town which is being born and shaped to practice its influential and active duty in political, economic and leading aspects that form a part of the characteristics and qualities of capitals.
The symbol of the political system used to be "The Ruling Palace" as it had been situated among its simple and humble economic movement and surrounded by the types of its commercial activities where voices of the salesmen and shoppers rise higher than the administrative meovement of the palace. This means that the area around the palace used to contain all activities of the town including its daily life, its people meetings and social correspondence, their affiars, concerns, dreams and hopes. In all cases; they were distributed through its main market called "Al Mukaibra" which was presenting the financial and economic center and were, at the same time, surrounding the palace.
This was the image of Al-Riyadh, the capital, at the time of its establishment and the rise of Abdul Aziz Bin Abdul- Rahman's struggles for unifying the areas and their people in one geographic entity and one social formation which is joined in its approaches, belongingness and loyality from the waters of the Arabian Gulf until the shores of the Red Sea. His aim was to make all these areas covered by security and love, full of production and prosperity & quite in living the aspects of development and modernization.
The image of ancient Riyadh passes by as a model for towns transformations and restructuring of their lives when the social history is recalled for comparing it with the facts of the present reality.Such attempt tries to subject the case to the understanding and the documentary registration, in addition to answering questions such as: how idi we used to be? How did we become? how are towns created and expanded in all directions in a very short time similar to the one witnised by Riyadh? And how had such historical roles been achieved to it as a political capital and to the entity (i.e. the stste) it represents?
All of the observer, the follower & the contemplator stand in surprise before the vision of this city at Saturday's night. Due to that its political symbolism led it to be transformed to a capital of love that hearts carried and travelled with from the far side of the home land to its opposite far side. This happened before the people's movement towards the ruling palace for expressing truthfully theirloyality, deep belongingness and pride by identity through providing Salman Bin Abdul Aziz with hobesty, clarity and trust for his bearing of the burden of Crown Prince position as an exceptional leader along a path that had been arranged abd built by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdulla Bin Abdul Aziz.
People came along from all directions, areas, towns and villages of the homeland and hurried topwards the two historical symbols represented by the ruling party in an impressive spontanous voting which has neither been planned for by the intelligence nor occurred because of the fear from imprisonment and jails. All of this was not due to encouragement or terrifying but due to hearts washed by love and filled by loyality for state men who provided the homeland and its citizens with love generously and rereceived, accordingly, people's support and trust for specifying their destiny and future.
Salman Bin Abdul Aziz stood in the heart of the town that he was in charge of administrating, developing and modernizing since 1954 as a historical witness and a founder of the stages of a town that used to sleep inside its muddy wall. However, he has witnesed a big space which includes towns inside a city called Riyadh.
Salman, the man and symbol; you provided work and production and received love that led you to living in people's hearts.
