The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will participate in the 36th session of the GCC Health Ministerial Council, scheduled to open its deliberations in Doha on Thursday.The Kingdom's delegation will be headed by Dr Mansour Bin Nasser Al-Hawasi, the Deputy of the Ministry of Health for the Executive Affairs. The official spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Dr. Khalid Bin Mohammed Marghalani said that the Health Ministers of The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) will discuss mechanisms and strategies to combat non-communicable diseases such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, smoking, organ transplantation and others. It will also focus on an in-depth review of a detailed report on the activities of the Executive Office and accomplishments during the conclusion of this session and a follow-up of decisions and recommendations as regards latest scientific developments and means of developing health services in the member states. A working paper to be presented by the Kingdom will deal with 'Organ Transplantation in Saudi Arabia.'The GCC is comprised of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
