32 Tourism Festival and Activity in Different Regions in the Kingdom during the mid-year Holiday "Tourism Commission" Provides Marketing, Technical and Financial Support
The Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiques receives the mid year holiday which starts next Thursday by sponsoring the organization of more than 23 tourism festivals and activities in different regions in the Kingdom organized by the tourism development councils and other bodies. Amongst these, 23 festival will be held under the sponsorship of the Commission. The commission and its partners have ended the preparation in the regions where the festivals are going to be held. The festivals witnessed this holiday covers variant cultural, social, traditional, sports, entertainment activities in addition to other activities that fit all brackets of the society. Marketing and Communication vice-president of the General Commission for Tourism and Antiques Abdulla Bin Salman Al-Johani said that the Commission works through the tourism development teams in the reigns to support the efforts of the tourism development councils and their partners in the organization of these festivals and activities, the thing that contributes to the development of local tourism during this holiday. Such contribution from the Commission comes in the form of marketing, media, technical and financial support to organize these variant tourism activities, in addition to the Commission's organization to the promotional programs that will encourage people to visit tourist sites in the Kingdom. He also commented "These activities and festivals play a significant role in forming the tourism destinations based on their ability to increase the tourism demand on the tourism destinations and the facilities therein, in addition to signifying the tourist constituents of the region and their role in enhancing the national sense by introducing the natural, civilizational, traditional and cultural treasures of the country to the citizens, and increasing communication with the habitants of the other regions, not to mention the contribution of these activities to the social development through enhancing familial ties and instructing young people to spend their leisure times in useful things and safe places where entertainment and learning of new things can be found. Furthermore, these activities and festivals contribute in convincing and encouraging businessmen to invest in the economical and tourist facilities in the regions where such festivals are going to be held". Part of Al Ghada Festival in Onaizah Al-Johani also said that the festivals of this holiday are expected to attract a large number of people who used to anticipate festivals knows for their variation and highly creative organization, especially that many festivals have gained their own independent distinctiveness and particularity and interactivity. Al-Johani indicated that the partnerships which the Commission initiated with the regions resulted in the existence of a huge number of special festivals and tourist activities which are developing and growing increasingly, and becoming more successful year after a year. He also expressed his thank for the entities that participated and supported these festivals, and praised the special efforts exerted by the tourist development committees and councils in the other regions and cities for the sake of holding these festivals, emphasizing the role of such councils in the development of the tourist movement and the creation of an integrated framework between the public and private sectors for the purpose of serving the development of tourism. Amongst the festivals that are due to be held in the Kingdom's different regions under the sponsorship of the Commission are Al Rabie Festival which will be held in Medina, Layali Rabie Najran Festival, Jazan Winter Festival (Jazan Carnival), Rabie Tabuk Festival (Fulla Car), "Al Wajh Wijhitna" Festival in Al Wajh city, Alriyadh Food Festival, and Mahayel Asir festival, in addition to the paragliding shows on Asir's beach, and Jubail's cultural forum, and Al kahma coastal festival in Asir. Qaseem will witness five festivals including Al Rabie Festival in Buraidah, Al Ghada Festival in Onaizah, while Hail Rally will be held in Hail city besides the other accompanying activities which include the bazaar and Moukq Heritage Festival, young men activities, Alhijin (camel riding contest) and Hawaa activities. Al Jawf will witness the Olive Festival "which HH Prince Fahd Bin Badr Bin Abdul-Aziz, the Prince of Jawf Province, instructed to postpone for a period of two weeks in order to give Al Jawf Municipality the opportunity to cooperate with Jeddah Municipality in removing the remains caused by the water floods and rains lately. As for the other activities organized by the Commission's partners, the Eastern Region will witness Saudi Aramco Exhibition activities, Prince Sultan Bin Abdul-Aziz for Science and Technology Center (Scitech) activities, Rabie Festial in Al Naoriah organized by the Tourism Development Commission in Al Naoriah, and "Kulna" Festival organized by Al Ihsaa Young Women Charitable Society, and Al Ihsaa Drama Festival organized by the Culture and Arts Society in Al Ihsaa. As for Jeddah City, it will be witnessing the Coffee Festival under the sponsorship of the Tourism Development Council of Jeddah city, and the Sea Products Festival sponsored by the Jeddah's Chamber for Commerce and Industry. Meanwhile, Al Riyadh will witness the Andalusian Gardens Exhibit at the National Museum, and the Kingdom's Heritage Exhibit planned to be held at King Abdulaziz Darat, and Children's Theatre activates organized by Al Riyadh Municipality.
