Saudis wishing to travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina must obtain entry visas, Director of Public Relations and Information Department at the Ministry of Interior said. Major General Mohammed Al-Mara'ul said the Saudi Embassy in Sarajevo was receiving several telephone and written enquiries from Saudi nationals asking whether they were exempted from entry visa requirements. The embassy has received a note from the Bosnian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stating that Saudis must obtain entry visas from the Bosnian Embassy in Riyadh before traveling to the country. Saudis who hold a Schengen visa or a residence permit valid for any of the EU member states or Schengen countries are also allowed to enter Bosnia without a visa. Holders of diplomatic and special passports are also exempted from the visa requirements. The Saudi Embassy in Sarajevo also urged Saudis not to overstay their visas. Bosnia has become an attractive travel destination for Saudis in the last two years because of its favorable weather conditions, friendly atmosphere and low prices.
