The General Directorate of Passport (GDP) has called on Saudi nationals wishing to travel to European countries that require Schengen visa to comply with a number of regulations. "Every citizen is required to obtain Schengen visa from the embassy of the Country of his first destination or he will be subjected to detention and cancellation of his visa and deportation to his country. The Schengen visa laws state that all visa applicants must enter first the Schengen visa issuing country. On arrival at any Schengen Area, any sum of money equivalent to 10,000 Euros and more must be declared and registered at the concerned airport custom authorities so as not to be subjected to financial fines defined by custom authorities." GDP also stressed the need to follow the laws and regulations of countries that citizens wish to travel to, as compliance with regulations will prevent travelers to fall into problems that may prevent them from entering the country that they wish to travel to. The General Directorate of Passport called upon Citizens not to expose themselves to situations that would disturb them, and urged all Saudis who are traveling abroad to register their passports at Saudi embassies and representation offices immediately upon arrival and keep passport safe from loss, theft or damage to avoid any prospective problems arising due to the loss of documents.
