As the 90-day amnesty period for illegal residents comes to an end today Monday, the General Directorate of Passports has warned all expatriates who have obtained exit visas under the scheme against overstaying their exit visas. The Directorate urged them to leave voluntarily or face severe penalties under the campaign, "A Nation without illegal expatriates," which was initiated on March 29. The Directorate had earlier called on all citizens and residents to lend a hand to the campaign by urging illegal residents who hold exit visas to leave before the deadline to avoid penalties.
