Published in Alriyadh on 16 - 05 - 2017

The Muslim World League concluded in London the conference on "Tolerance in Islam", which was held in London University, in the presence of influential leaders of the Muslim community in Europe, including scientists, advocates, thinkers and a number of Western politicians and thinkers from inside and outside the United Kingdom.
In the opening ceremony, the participants were welcomed by a speech from Dr. Muhammad Abdulhalim, a professor at the University of London and Head of King Fahad Chair for African and Middle Eastern Studies. Dr. Muhammad also stressed in his speech that the hosting of such conference in partnership with the Muslim World League comes to emphasize the tolerance of Islam and the Islamic values of mercy and justice. He thanked at the end of his speech the Muslim World League for holding this conference, hoping that his output will be raised to the aspiration of Muslim communities in general and the Muslim community in Britain in particular.
After that, the Secretary General of the Muslim World League, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa delivered a speech in which he stressed on the keenness of the MWL to promote the culture of peace and tolerance. He stressed also on using constructive dialogue of understanding among the various components and moderate approach that it adopts. Dr. Muhammad pointed out that tolerance is one of the high values of Islam and that is confirmed by many texts of legitimacy as seen in the biography of the Prophet as it is at the forefront of Islamic moral values in all areas of life.
Sheikh Muhammad stressed and confirmed on his speech that these Islamic high values are conflicting completely with extremism by what it all means because they are on the contrary of it and promote to what extremism reject and deny. This should clarify the clear difference between what is the real tolerant Islam is promoting and what extremism is adopting. In lighten of that, any individual can easily identify those extremist by noticing their refusal and perseverance to what the real Islam is calling for because they are acting far away from the basic Islamic real and clear knowledge and jurisprudential awareness. Dr. Al-Issa explained that the intellectual defeat of terrorism is easy to achieve because terrorism is based on a weak radical ideology and not on a military entity or a strong political power despite its observed geographical spread by exploit all opportunities to attract many ignorant followers whom were persuaded with such a corrupt curriculum and methods.
The Conference called for the promotion of noble moral values, lofty social practices, the need to cooperate in addressing ethical, environmental and family challenges and the promotion of cooperation in the development of sustainable and mutually beneficial development. The conference also condemned the phenomenon of "Islamophobia" because it is the result of the lack of knowledge of the real Islamic values and high objectives by the identification and explanation of its real and clear origins and principles; not through what the perpetrators of the fake impersonators falsely attributed to Islam. There was a calling also for the international Islamic and educational institutions for encouraging the culture of cooperation and understanding and the promotion of religious values that entrench tolerance and positive coexistence.
The Conference also called the Muslim communities in non-Muslim countries to respect the constitutional laws and rules of these countries in all their aspects of life and living especially in their polite demanding and asking for such an individual or social rights or needs such as Hijab, Islamic schools, Islamic holidays "Eids" and etc.. and be wary of being dragged behind religious agitation by rebelling against the decisions of those countries.
The participants and the attending audiences of the conference praised the huge great efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in general and the Muslim World League in particular to explain and clarify the real Islam in the whole world and confronting extremist ideas by establishing recently the Intellectual Warfare Center. They also thanked the University of London for the patronizing efforts and all the main speakers for their presence and participating in this beneficial conference.
