Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Riyadh Region, patronized on Tuesday evening the ceremony held by the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of establishment of the GCC. The event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps of Gulf, Arab and friendly countries accredited to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. At the outset of the ceremony, GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani made a speech in which he highlighted the significant achievements by the GCC since its inception in 1986 and congratulated the GCC leaders for their support and care for the GCC joint work in order to achieve the aspirations of the GCC citizens for further cooperation and integration. Dr. Al-Zayani thanked the GCC leaders and foreign ministers for their support to the GCC General Secretariat and its employees to perform their duties. He also expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Culture and Information, represented by Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Adel bin Zaid Al-Toraifi for the Ministry's participation in and contribution to this ceremony. In remarks to Saudi Press Agency on the occasion, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz expressed pleasure to attend this ceremony and thanked the leaders of the GCC countries for their efforts to serve their people.
