Luck was against the Yemeni rule, whose preoccupation with the “status of the state” and the possible and impossible solutions to save it, prevented it from resorting to any DNA tests to measure the extent of the familial ties between the oppositionists it still perceives as being “backward,” or from doing other lab tests that do not rely on informants to check the similarity between the minds of those defying the president. Luck was also against this rule which will not be able to move the “happy Yemen” from its position on the map to render it closer to Israel, in order to play the card of a trade-off or “marriage” between its stay in power and the stability of the Hebrew state which – on the eve of the Arab Spring – was one of the first enemies of “rejectionism.” Indeed, this had allowed other rulers to give the Arabs of the republics the impression that daily bread was unnecessary, that dignity was a luxury and freedom an extravagance, in the face of “rejectionism” toward a violating, oppressive and deceiving entity that swallowed the land and is preparing to carry out the last attack against the republics of ample prosperity. And because Arab history is once again running in the veins of the region, we are getting rid of the complex of blocking the bad memories, although this does make hypocrisy acceptable through the changing of the convictions and principles to protect one's back. During the stage of the internationalization of human rights, many among those who lived in the sixties and seventies remember how monarchy used to be an accusation. Today, it has become a haven away from the hell of the republics filled with torture and oppression, in order to “protect” countries and the “patriotic” against the hidden imperialistic projects and the Israeli harm. There is no bread and no dignity, but this is a mere sacrifice to allow the prevalence of the republics of “glory” that are drenched in Arab blood. The time has not yet come to count the number of the martyrs of freedom, but it will certainly reveal the massive volume of the blood that is flowing to maintain the stay of the generals in comparison with the number of the martyrs who have fallen in the wars with Israel. Following the epic of the “national” regimes in the “eternal” conflict with Israel, the terrorization had to be exploited through the card of the alternative, which – in the presence of extremist fundamentalism or even Salafi fundamentalism and the terrorism of Al-Qaeda – does not conceal the terrorism in the republics of “glory” that have become accustomed to controlling each home and mind. In both cases, accusations of infidelity and accusations of treason are one and the same and have fueled the uprisings against the regimes and their weapons, including the terrorization of the mind with the myth of conspiracies, in order to impose an eternal tutelage over the rights and lives of the citizens. And in the Arab spring, there are many examples for the way the necktie-generals applied their “justice” and “wisdom” on public funds, which they transferred to accounts in Western banks before calmly going back to managing the battles of the nation. These battles are with the Israelis, even if on the “peace front,” with the crawling terrorism from dubious sides, with the Islamist who only wants power and the unlucky left winger who is watching the rise to power of the Muslim Brotherhood, even if in a while. Once again, it must be said that Yemen is not Tunisia and Syria is not Egypt. But more importantly, the victory of the revolution which toppled Mubarak and Ben Ali will not be complete until the elimination of all kinds of discrimination and the extermination of the counterrevolution infiltrating Egypt in the form of sectarian strife. This is definitely the biggest threat facing the era of change, as it is spreading confusion and doubts namely related to the ability of the state to protect itself from collapse and prevent the conflicts over the rights of the Christians. Therefore, it would not be an exaggeration to link the fate of the movements of change in the region to the ability of the January 25 revolution to pass the test of overcoming strife which can quickly cross the border. This had been used by the republics of the security fist as a weapon to raise fears over the alternative, thus allowing once again the prevalence of the banners of “glory” of the authority, even if at the expense of the fall of hundreds of martyrs. The authority is counting the breaths and the “conspirators,” the West that is raising the banner of human rights is waiting as time passes by and time is quickly running in Libya and Yemen. In the meantime, the West cannot contain the crumbling rocks and heads, while its needs – unlike what some might think – exceed the mere guaranteeing of the interests and security of Israel among the states of the big and small generals.
