Share prices nosedived Friday on the Seoul stock exchange on deepening concerns over the economies in the eurozone after Moody's Investers Service downgraded the credit ratings of 16 Spanish banks. The benchmark Kospi index fell 62.78 points, or 3.4 per cent, to close below the psychological important 1,800 level at 1,782.46. Declining issues outnumbered advancers 756 to 136. The main index of the technology-heavy Kosdaq market shed 19.45 points, or 4.2 per cent, to close at 448.68. On currency markets, the US dollar was quoted at 1,172.80 Korean won, up from 1,162.90 on the previous day.
