The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will chair the 5th Conference of Environment Ministers of member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), scheduled to take place in Astana, the Republic of Kazakhstan, on May 17 and 18. Prince Turki bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, General President of the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (PM), Head of the Executive Bureau of the OIC Environment Ministers and President of the Conference, said that the conference will discuss a number of issues related to environment and sustainable development in the Organization's member countries in addition to other related issues. The Kingdom has hosted in Jeddah the First and Second OIC Environment Ministers Conferences. Saudi Arabia has also chaired the third conference, held in Morocco and presided over the fourth conference, held in Tunisia. Saudi Arabia also chairs the Islamic environment Executive Office since its inception in 2006.
