Prince Turki bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, the General President of Meteorology and Environment Protection and the President of Executive Office of Ministers Responsible for Environment Affairs in the Islamic world, announced today the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to fund the next meetings of Environment Ministers of Member States of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC). This announcement came in a speech delivered today by Prince Turki at a ceremony held today by OIC to mark the World Environment Day. Prince Turki said this initiative will contribute to the success of coordination and partnership between the Islamic countries in the field of environment protection and sustainable development. Prince Turki also said that the Kingdom will pay the cost of the meetings to be held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia every two years. The ceremony was attended by OIC Secretary General Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu and a number of officials.
