A Specialized Commission in Charge of Studying the Proposals concerned with the transition from cooperation to a union stage between the countries of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) held its second meeting here yesterday at the headquarters of GCC General Secretariat. The meeting was chaired by Minister of State, Cabinet's Member, and Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, with the participation of the GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani. The Commission submitted its second report based on its assignment by GCC Supreme Council in the previous summit. The Commission's outcomes will be submitted to the Ministerial Council in preparation for their submission to the 14th GCC Consultative Summit in May, 2012. The GCC Supreme Council directed in its previous session held on December 19, 2011 to form this Commission in implementation of its decision that blessed and welcomed the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the current chairman of the Supreme Council, in his opening speech on the transition from cooperation to a union stage.
