The Secretary General of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al-Zayani stressed that the GCC has become a strong regional and developed system with proactive visions and awareness towards the internal affairs of the GCC countries and their international responsibilities. Addressing the European Parliament today, Dr. Al-Zayani pointed out that the GCC countries enjoy vital and effective political activities, and these are aware of their cultures, heritage and traditions of their peoples and work hard to promote their prosperity, integration and protection of independence. He said, "The GCC states are part of Arab and Islamic worlds. They are fully aware of difficulties and challenges facing them and capable to provide solutions and contribute to the maintenance of security and stability in the Gulf and Middle East regions; simultaneously they shoulder their international responsibilities and play positive and constructive roles in various issues and international problems.
