Several dozen Taliban armed with assault rifles and rocket-propelled grenades attacked a prison in north-western Pakistan on Sunday freeing hundreds of inmates, officials said, according to DPA. The raid took place in Bannu district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province in the early morning hours. Miian Iftikhar Hussain, the provincial information minister, said the militants first set up the roadblocks around the prison and then broke into through the main gate. "They continued their action for next three hours." The rebels took 384 prisoners, out of which about 20 were considered to be very dangerous militants, Hussain said.
