The security spokesman of the Ministry of Interior said today that the concerned security bodies managed to foil an attempt to smuggle 500kg of hashish through the eastern coast of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, arresting six Pakistani and five Iranian smugglers. He also said that preliminary investigations showed that the arrested persons are working for a criminal network to smuggle narcotics from Iranian territory to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States. "They were monitored while sailing in the Saudi regional waters, and arrested while delivering narcotics at sea," the security spokesman added.
