Kuwaiti coastal guards have recovered 160 kilograms of hashish near a frontier island, KUNA quoted the Interior Ministry as saying in a release here on Saturday. Acting upon information on an attempt to smuggle a quantity of narcotics into the country, a working team of the coastal guards and criminal investigation police immediately moved to monitor and seize the smugglers, it said. As soon as the radar system monitored two boats sailing into Kuwaiti territorial waters, the team rushed to seize them and arrest three crewmen in possession of the hashish quantity, it added. Having been caught, the smugglers admitted that they had thrown some narcotics into water, the ministry said. A case was registered against them and they were now being interrogated, it pointed out.
