Muslim World League (MWL) Wednesday condemned strongly the burning of copies of the Holy Quran by soldiers at U.S. Base of Bagram, affiliated with NATO in Afghanistan, describing this act as a heinous attack on Islam and Muslims. In a statement issued here today, MWL Secretary General Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmohsen Al-Turki said that this action incites hatred and enmity among peoples, which are forbidden by divine religions and UN international laws, calling on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and Governments of Islamic countries to exert efforts to hold accountable those soldiers who burned the copies of the Holy Quran, and to prevent the recurrence of this heinous act.
