A flood triggered by the overflowing of the Cirarap and Sabi Rivers, tributaries of the Cisadane River, has submerged 1,055 houses in Periuk sub district, Tangerang City, Banten Province. "We have monitored the flood, and the worst-affected is at Gembor neighborhood," ANTARA quoted Secretary of the Periuk sub district office Teddy Bayu Putra as saying on Monday. Some 1,500 people are taking refuge at school buildings, mosques and at Gembor community health center, according to officials. Also, Tangerang authorities and a number of volunteers are operating public kitchens to supply food to the flood victims. At Total Persada housing complex, some 804 houses are flooded to heights reaching 2.4 meters, while at Puradi complex 201 houses are flooded, and the remainder are at Alamanda complex.
