Japanese shares fell Monday as market sentiment was hurt by the yen's strength and disappointing US economic growth. The benchmark Nikkei 225 Stock Average lost 48.17 points, or 0.54 per cent, to end at 8,793.05 while the broader Topix index was down 4.12 points, or 0.54 per cent, at 757.01, according to a report of DPA.
