The 1st Saudi Arabian Renewable Energy Conference & Exhibition will be held here under the auspices of the Center of Research Excellence in Renewable Energy of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) from February 19th to 21st. On the eve of the Conference and Exhibition, Dr. Khalid Al-Sultan, Rector of KFUPM highlighted the interest of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz in the renewable energy which is a strategic issue for the present and future generations, and to keep up the global attention regarding this vital issue. He added that the establishment of King Abdullah City for Atomic & Renewable Energy stems from the interest of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to expand in this area, which is a reflection of many of the projects that have been announced, and began to be implemented. One of these most important projects is producing water and electricity by solar energy to Khafji City, and the production of electric solar-powered projects for the Saudi Electricity Company, and Saudi Aramco, and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. --MORE
