Greek authorities say a mountain climber has died after he was buried in a snowstorm on Mt. Beles in central Macedonia as bad weather continued to wreak havoc in the country's north. A rescue team said Dimitris Triantafyllidis, 36 years old, was buried in snow after he developed cramps on the way down the mountain and was unable to move. They were alerted by a fellow climber, AP reported. Authorities also said Saturday that waters in the river Ardas, a tributary to the Evros river that separates Greece and Turkey, have been rising to dangerous levels. In a smaller tributary, rising river waters overcame a dike and flooded a barn, drowning more than 200 sheep.
