TWO CLIMBERS WERE KILLED WHEN THE ICE SHELF THEY WERE SCALING COLLAPSED, AND A SKIER WAS FOUND DEAD SATURDAY AFTER AN APPARENT FALL IN THE FRENCH ALPS, POLICE AND RESCUERS SAID, ACCORDING TO AP. TWO CLIMBERS WERE KILLED AND A THIRD WAS INJURED IN THE FALL FROM THE 2,750-METER- (9,020-FOOT-) HIGH PEAK THEY WERE CLIMBING NEAR MONT BLANC, THE MOUNTAIN RESCUE SERVICE SAID. THE CLIMBERS WERE FOUND BURIED UNDER A HEAP OF SNOW RELEASED BY THE CRASHING ICE SHELF. TWO OTHER CLIMBERS SURVIVED THE INCIDENT SHAKEN BUT UNSCATHED. ALSO SATURDAY, RESCUERS FOUND THE BODY OF A 22-YEAR-OLD BRITON IN A RAVINE ABOVE THE TOWN OF DEUX ALPES, POLICE SAID. THE MAN HAD DISAPPEARED WEDNESDAY, AND APPARENTLY FELL TO HIS DEATH.
