The death of an Italian climber died in a fall from Mt Dhaulagiri in the Himalayas on April 26 was confirmed on Friday. Sergio Dalla Longa plunged hundreds of metres into a crevasse while climbing 8,167 metres, Nepalese authorities said in a statment, according to dpa. Longa, who had been the team leader of the seven-member Italian Dhaulagiri I Expedition, is the second climber confirmed dead on the mountain in this spring climbing season. In April, Dawa Sherpa, slipped and fell into a crevasse while preparing logistics between camps on Mt Everest, the world's tallest mountain. -- SPA
