A Saudi research team won an invention patent from U.S. Patent Office for improving the production of the substance 'mibk' in the gas phase of acetone and hydrogen using a catalyst that was developed using nanotechnology. This invention is expected to help producing companies to use this developed catalyst to produce the substance 'mibk' economically. The research team included Dr. Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Bagbes, a staff member of the Institute of Petrochemical Research, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology; Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabiah and Dr. Waqif bin Malik Akhmedov from King Saud University; and Dr. Mohammad bin Mukhtar Mustafa from King Abdulaziz University.
