Shura gives real opinions and simultaneously serves our religion, nation and people. He added that the State was established on Islamic principles and united all people through its adherence to the Holy Quran and Prophet's Sunnah, noting that the State derives its regulations and the basic system of Governance from the Holy Quran and Prophet's Sunnah. The Prince added, " We, as officials, accept opinions and what comes from you. You are, in a country, where our doors from the King to the lowest ranking officials are open. This habit has been deep-rooted in the Kingdom and we are proud of it". In his speech, the Speaker of Majlis Al-Shura congratulated Prince Salman on the royal trust in his appointment as Defense Minister, wishing him success in the service of his religion and homeland, commending Prince Salman's wisdom, wide experiences and insight in dealing with various issues. The meeting was attended by Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Defense; Prince Naif bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Advisor at the Office of the Minister of Defence; and Lieutenant General Abdulrahman bin Saleh Al-Bunyan, the Director General of the Office of Minister of Defence.
