In an upcoming address to Parliament, German Chancellor Angela Merkel is expected to lay out her vision for changes to European Union treaties aimed at resolving the eurozone's spiraling debt crisis, according to AP. Merkel, together with French President Nicolas Sarkozy, are pushing for a reorganization of existing regulations that they believe are needed to prevent the eurozone from breaking apart. Merkel's office said her Friday address will inform lawmakers of the joint action she and Sarkozy plan to propose in Brussels at the Dec. 9 EU summit. Sarkozy called Thursday for "refounding and rethinking the organization of Europe."
