AlHijjah 29, 1432, Nov 25, 2011, SPA -- Greek authorities say they have mounted an air and sea rescue operation for about 100 migrants on a disabled trawler in rough seas off southern Greece, as AP reported. A coast guard statement Friday said patrol boats, merchant ships and a military transport aircraft are approaching the migrant-smuggling ship some 30 miles (50 kilometers) from the island of Kythera. The coast guard said the trawler was believed to be heading from the Egyptian port of Alexandria to Italy and suffered engine failure in near-gale conditions.
