AlHijjah 19, 1432, Nov 15, 2011, SPA - Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Asir region, and Chairman of King Khalid Award Commission, announced that late Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz (May Allah bless his soul) has won King Khalid Award for National Achievements this year, in recognition of his gigantic accomplishments in the field of charitable and humanitarian works. In a press conference held here yesterday at King Khalid Foundation in Riyadh after a meeting of the members of the Award, who approved the winners, he pointed out that the achievements of the late Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz in humanitarian and services fields are countless and have been witnessed throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Prince also announced the winners of other branches of the Award including Dr. Abdullah bin Hussein Al-Khalifa, "King Khalid Award for Social Sciences''; Oun Center for the Handicapped in Makkah, "King Khalid Award for Social Projects"; and "King Khalid Award for Responsible Competitiveness" granted in partnership with Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) to three companies, including Company of Electricity and Water Utilities in Jubail and Yanbu; National Company for Petrochemical Industries; and Dr. Suleiman Faqih Hospital. Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz noted that the winners will receive certificates of appreciation, medals, and trophies in addition to money, one million Saudi riyals for National Achievements Award; 750,000 riyals for each of Social Sciences Award and Social Projects Award, but as for King Khalid Responsible Competitiveness Award, it is an appreciation award granted to three companies from the private sector. He announced that Crown Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior will patronize a ceremony for honoring the winners of the Award on December 18.
