AlQa'dah 23, 1432, Oct 21, 2011, SPA -- Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu assigns a strong delegation of election observers to the Republic of Tunisia to observe Tunisian National Constituent Assembly elections scheduled to be held on 23 October 2011, as OIC's website reported. This is a first ever OIC election observer team which includes representatives from the General Secretariat as well as from its Member States namely from Kazakhstan and Turkey. Led by Ambassador Vefahan Ocak, the Chief of Cabinet of the Secretary General, the OIC observers are set to reach Tunis on 20 October 2011. OIC's participation in Tunisian election observation demonstrates the Organization's full support to the Tunisian people on their path to democracy.
