AlQa'dah 19, 1432, Oct 17, 2011, SPA - The Arab League strongly condemned on Sunday an Israeli government decision to build 2,610 housing units in a new settlement in an area between Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and Bethlehem. In a statement, the League called on United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon as well as the international community and human rights organizations to send a fact-finding mission to Al-Quds to investigate the deteriorating situation and Israeli violations against Al-Quds and its residents. It stressed that Israel's settlement construction and confiscation of land that belongs to Palestinians in Al-Quds undermines the vision of the two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital. It stressed the collective responsibility of the United Nations, the Quartet and all relevant international organizations to stop Israel from its continued violations against Al-Quds and the rest of the occupied territories, according to a report of the German Press Agency "DPA".
