AlQa'dah 15, 1432, Oct 13, 2011, SPA -- Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, confirmed that the agreement to establish the International King Abdullah Center for Dialogue for followers of religions and cultures is a multi-lateral agreement open for all countries and organizations to sign it as parties or observers. In a co-press conference with the Deputy Consultant and Minister of European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain, Prince Saud Al-Faisal said the agreement was based on the objectives and charter of the United Nations and the International declaration of the Conference on Dialogue among followers of religions, and cultures held on 18 July 2008, the United Nations Resolution to enhance dialogue, understanding and cooperation for peace among followers of religions and culture held on 13 November 2008. He said the agreement also advocates the principles and values of life and dignity of human beings and their basic liberties, particularly the freedom of thought, belief, and religion and pledges to combat all kinds of segregation based on religion or belief. He said the center aims at enhancing justice, peace and reconciliation, combats misuse of religion or finding excuses for using oppression, violence and dispute, enhances respect and preserves the holy nature of all holy places, religious signs, confronts all contemporary challenges of society, preserves environment and sustainable usage of natural resources and ethical and religious education and alleviation of impacts of poverty. --More
