The 24th GCC Electricity and Water Ministerial Committee meeting started here today under the chairmanship of UAE Minister of Energy Mohammed bin Dhaen Al Hamili. A delegation of the Cooperation Council For the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) led by Abdullah Bin Juma Al- Shibli, GCC Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs is also participating in the meeting. Al Hamili welcomed the GCC ministers of electricity and water and their delegations who are participating in the meeting. The minister said in his opening statement that the meeting is in line with the commitment to enhance and complement the achievements made during the previous phase, and most notably the launch of the first and second phases of the Gulf electricity linkage project, which is one of the most prominent projects in the GCC march reflecting the joint cooperation between GCC countries, according to a report of the UAE News Agency "WAM".
