Eng. Adel bin Mohammed Faqih, Minister of Labor of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, called on the G20 countries to find room in the preparatory meetings of the future G20 summits for the ministers in charge of education and training. Addressing the Ministers of Labor and Employment of the G20 countries in Paris today, Faqih urged the organization to exert more effort to solve the dilemma between the population rapid growth on one hand and the technological advancement in the labor market on the other. He reminded that Saudi Arabia's government's positive response to alleviate the impacts of the recent financial crisis was quick and effective. He added that the policy of gradual Saudization of jobs in the Kingdom would not degrade the importance of the participation of foreign labor forces in the building and development process in his country. Solving the youth unemployment problem will never be reached without cooperation with social partners and all civil society foundations at the domestic level, he said, adding that the Kingdom has made great strides to develop social protection systems, citing the unemployment bursary and disclosing the plan of launching a temporary unemployment insurance program in the few coming months.
