Adel bin Mohammed Faqih, Minister of Labor of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, met here today with the Director General of the International Labor Organization (ILO) Juan Somavia. During the meeting, Faqih congratulated the ILO chief on the organization's 100 meeting and briefed him on the latest developments at the Saudi labor market, including the establishment of labor committees, and introduction of grand recruitment companies and job-seekers bursary system. On the other hand, Somavia underscored the strategic role of the Kingdom, lauding the steps taken by the Ministry of Labor to further develop Saudi Arabia's labor market and vowing to provide necessary support for the Ministry of Labor to further promote the environment of labor markets in the Kingdom. Senior officials in the Minister's delegation attended the meeting.
