Philippine President Benigno Aquino III headed to the United States on Sunday for a five-day visit. "The visit aims to enhance the country's strategic profile by underscoring the Aquino government's demonstrated commitment to its good governance," the Department of Foreign Affairs was quoted as saying by the German Press Agency "DPA". The President also seeks to "highlight the administration's economic agenda and accomplishments after a year in office," the department added. Aquino plans to address the Open Government Partnership in New York and a give a lecture at the World Bank-IMF annual meetings in Washington.
