China's defence chief General Liang Guanglie arrived in the Philippines Saturday for a five-day visit. Liang said he hoped his visit would boost defence cooperation between China and the Philippines, which "contributes to regional peace and stability." Liang was scheduled to meet with his counterpart Defence Secretary Voltair Gazmin and military chief General Eduardo Oban. He was also scheduled to pay courtesy call to President Benigno Aquino III, according to a report of the German Press Agency "DPA".
