Dr. Nabil Al-Arabi, Secretary General of the Arab League said that the Arab Group at the United Nations was assigned to call on the Security Council to convene to take necessary steps to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. In a press conference held here today following the end of the emergency meeting of Arab League Council at the level of permanent delegates, Al-Arabi said that the meeting discussed the brutal aggression on the Gaza Strip as well as the Israeli aggression against the Egyptian forces in Sinai. He pointed out that the statement of the Arab League Council provides steps and specific directions and requests. Al-Arabi added that Arab states call on international community to end the Israeli blockage around Gaza and provide urgent humanitarian aid as well as financial aid to the Palestinian people, stressing that what Israel is doing in Gaza is considered as a war crime.
