A diplomatic source at the League of Arab States said that talks of the Arab foreign ministers in their extraordinary meeting today focused on a package of measures that will be included in the urgent Arab political move plan to handle the continuous criminal Israeli aggression on Gaza strip. Moreover, the source stated today on the sidelines of the closed-door ministerial session that the plan includes formation of an Arab position that pressurizes the capitals of international decision to exert pressure on Israel, and demand the UN Security Council to issue a resolution to stop the Israeli aggression. Furthermore, the source stated if the Security Council fails to convene or issue a resolution, the Arab countries will directly go for an Arab summit to be held in the Qatari capital, Doha. The source added that the move plan includes urgent steps to expedite and expand the size of human and relief aid to Gaza and an integrated plan to reconstruct demolition in the Strip after cessation of the attacks. In the closed-door session, discussions examined the need for clearing Arab atmosphere, stoppage of defamation campaigns, exchanged accusations, and provocation against some Arab countries so as to build a collective Arab position to deal with the aggression, promote Palestinian legality and go for Palestinian dialogue in Cairo. A resolution by the council of Arab foreign ministers is anticipated including the aforementioned steps together with condemnation of the Israeli aggression, holding Israel responsible for its actions, stressing that such antagonistic actions would not secure safety and peace for Israel, and that the pace process will become unfeasible if the current state-of-affairs persists, in addition to calling upon the US President-Elect Barack Obama to give high priority to the peace process in the Middle East and not wait for a long period to review all issues relating to the peace process.
