Arab League Council at the level of permanent representatives condemned the Israeli brutal aggression on the Egyptian forces, resulted in a number of dead and wounded and held Israel fully responsible for this heinous crime. At its emergency meeting held at the headquarters of the Arab League here today and headed by the Sultanate of Oman and with the presence of the Secretary General of the Arab League, Dr. Nabil Al-Arab, the Council expressed solidarity with the Arab Republic of Egypt, and support for Egyptian efforts in the face of this brutal aggression and its repercussions. The Council also condemned the Israeli brutal aggression on the Gaza Strip and that left dozens of dead and injured Palestinian civilians, especially children and defenseless women in addition to the latest Israeli massive destruction of Palestinian homes and property. The Arab League Council also called on the international community to exert pressure on the Israeli occupation authorities to an immediate halt to this aggression. It also called on the UN Security Council to shoulder its responsibilities fully and quickly and take the necessary measures to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza, which is a violation of the laws and international conventions and agreements and a threat to the security and peace and stability in the region
